Bill Josem joined Spear Wilderman in an Of Counsel capacity in 2025, after having co-founded and practiced with Cleary & Josem LLP for more than 30 years. Bill is a graduate of Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, cum laude. Bill attended law school at the Georgetown University Law Center, from which he graduated magna cum laude, and where he was an editor on the Georgetown Law Journal. A significant portion of Bill’s practice is devoted to the representation of Taft-Hartley Funds. Bill has counseled a number of major pension plans that have encountered serious funding and related problems and has represented those plans before the U.S. Department of Labor, the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, the Internal Revenue Service, and in legal proceedings. In addition to his employee benefits practice, Bill has also represented numerous international, regional and local labor unions in contract negotiations, federal and state litigation, as well as before numerous federal and state agencies. Before becoming a lawyer, Bill worked as a field agent in the Philadelphia Region of the NLRB.
