Front-line workers who have valiantly continued to serve the public through the global pandemic have been hard hit; some have made the supreme sacrifice and given their lives in the service of others. Many of our firm’s Union clients have faced varied challenges in working with employers to protect these heroes and provide needed benefits to their families should tragedy strike. The news team at NBC10 in Philadelphia recently ran a series investigating the struggles encountered by families of City workers, who were members of Spear Wilderman client AFSCME District Council 33, who have perished during the pandemic. Spear Wilderman shareholder Sam Spear has assisted the Union and family members of these fallen heroes in their efforts to recover benefits to which they are entitled.
